I've learned.

In this past year, I've grown more than I ever thought possible. I can tell you, that along with a significant weight loss- comes a drastic increase in pseudo "self confidence" and especially, more attention from others. That last part has caused me to take a realistic trip to "hell and back". If it were not for the unconditional LOVE and SUPPORT of my mom and stepdad, my sons and my spouse- I have absolutely NO.CLUE where I would be standing today. Most importantly, the one person/spirit who did not give up on me; who helped me and held me when I was so close to the point of no return; who gave me even the smallest glimmer of Hope and Strength...my Creator....our Father Almighty. In this past year, I've gained the strongest testimony of our Father and his love for each and every one of us. I've gained more appreciation for "Life" and all those around me, even if I do not know them. We are all here for a reason and if all else fails- as long as we show love and genuine compassion for others, we'll be content and at peace with ourselves.

I also have thought countless thoughts about how we are each given tests. It's not about how fast we succeed or accomplish or conquer these tests- it's about HOW BADLY we know we can PERSERVERE these tests. The biggest life lesson I've learned in my mere 27 years on this planet is- I am important, I am loved and that noone and nothing can break me down. As well as the simple notion that life is so precious, and such a beautiful blessing that we get to experience day after day. I've gained a deeper love for my husband, children, family and freinds than I could ever express.

I learned that I can do anything, and I mean anything. I learned that people who love you will do anything for you. I learned that people who don't know you, would give anything to ease the burden or pain you are feeling. I learned the true and honest meaning of charity. I learned that prayer is the most powerful tool available to us.

11 weeks and counting....

My mom and my two sisters and I will be running/walking/jogging the Ladiesfest 2012 race here in Lethbridge!!!

I have 11 weeks to get my butt in gear and make it happen....the worst part of "losing weight" is maintaining the loss...LoL......I've picked up my old bad habits, and need to get back on track...not just for the numbers or the scale or how my clothes fit (or lack of)...but for my health....which is what brought me to this point to begin with...

Oh, and latest GREATEST update of our family life- Doug received his Acceptance to the Faculty of Law at one of the best Western Canadian Universities!!!! Wooooo Whooooo! Way to go, Dougie! <3

no end in sight...

I am behind...as usual.

I have not posted about my little Dom's birthday or his VERY first day of school (K5).
I am SO behind on my organizing and feel like this clutter is going to drive me insane.

I also am eating my own words right now, that yes-everything does happen for a reason. But I will not continue to lead this path. I will stand my ground and do what I can to "right" my wrongs, and work harder on the one most important person here- me.

I have never wanted to be selfish, which is why I ALWAYS put others first. I am a people pleaser, and for some insane reason- I feel the need to always be well presented. (as I'm sure others feel that way too).
Regardless of the above, I need to start at the very beginning. I need to get back to walking the path that I worked so hard for. I could not do this without the unending support of my mother and my spouse. The two people who have NEVER given up on me. Who remind me that I am worthy of SO much. I need to allow myself to accept that and too fully understand that-in time I hope too. I sincerely do.

I also know, if I do not stop "searching", it will only continue to add fuel to my self-debilitating ways. In my position however, the miles and distance are not of sufficient help.

I've been hurt throughout my life, as well as inflicted hurt and pain on others. I want so badly to tell those who mean SO much to me, that I am sorry. I truly am. There are afew relationships that I long to repair, but feel the conflicted individuals will not see my apology.

God is great. Our Creator is so powerful; and I know that as long as I put my trust and faith in Him, I will be okay. =)

This time, six years ago.....

I distinctively remember this time six years ago; waiting and waiting soooooo impatiently for my firstborn baby to arrive.

We were in and out of the hospital- checking too see if my "braxton hicks" contractions were indeed the real thing or not...LoL We walked around Costco, and the new Superstore that had opened on the southside of our city.....
"We" consisted of my wonderful "boyfriend" (now husband) at the time; my mom and two sisters; my sister in law and my mother in law.......the baby was the first neice/nephew as well as the first grandchild for the grandparents....so ALOT of anticipation lol

Well fast forward 12-24 hours and on September 4, 2005- My firstborn son was born! And such an amazing little man! I cannot believe that tomorrow he will be six years old. He's grown into his own personality, and is such a joy to have around. Yes, we clash-him and I, but he's still my nynen..... He's VERY strong willed and determined when he sets his mind to something. He is very patient and such a GREAT example to his younger brothers! He has a tough exterior, but is so loving and sweet. He's never too busy for hugs and cuddles from any of us. He LOVES BBQ chips and iced tea, as well as chocolate timbits.....He's always been a fan of steak and cheesecake (he sure has a healthy palette)

He's a gamer at heart, but knows that reading and colouring and printing/writing are still VERY VERY important. =)

I love you so incredibly much, my little Jackson Brian (he picks and chooses when he wants his first name omitted for the day..LOL but he sure loves his entire name now, and knows what each name in his full name represents.)

**im on the laptop, so there's no picture folders on here- the picture I will include is the one I had taken in the van before we drove too the boys' school for Dry's VERY first day of GRADE.ONE!!!**
Needless to say, you can clearly see how THRILLED he is...LoL =P

Tomorrow is a swimming party with a pizza party @ his favorite pizza joint- Pizza Hut!!! ((how many more times can I say pizza in one sentence lol)

so.so.SO. behind....

I have a million and one blog entires floating around in my head....sooo many "Littles" updates; picture updates.....and alot more on my plate...LoL Plz dont ask when I'll find time to get "caught up", because frankly, I'm not even sure of when that will happen-let alone in 2011 LOL

All I can say is this, my LAST entry was August 18th....that says alot lol

September 1st, 2011 is TOMORROW- not only does that mean its the end of Summer 2011; but that my oldest Little will be entering GRADE ONE......*insert sad cry face here*.....I havent accepted this fact yet, but I'm sure it will set in tomorrow....well every day it's setting in..that my oldest boy will be SIX YEARS OLD in a matter of days and starting grade ONE/ my middle little man will be turning FIVE years old not long after his big bros' bday AND starting K5/ and that my itty bitty little dude is more than halfways to being THREE soon.......seriously, can't time just SLOW DOWN.....

I havent captured as many pictures with my Nikon as I'd like; or made any recent home videos with the video cam of the Littles; we haven't gone to ALL the parks in this city like we'd planned; nor have we gone swimming as much as we wanted too.....LoL..... ohh, and my glorious plan for "every day for every week of this past summer"- yeah, that didnt go over so well...I dare not divulge how many "pajama days" we had this summer, lol.....

I did however, come to this very SERIOUS realization that the RESPECT and ADMIRATION for my mother, is unending and continously being renewed.....

It all came to me one day, that SHE is as human as I am- and that  unlike myself- she did all this "parenting" alone...well not technically-she had support; but in all honesty, not nearly as much support as I feel that I've been blessed too have.....She had to get us to where we needed to be; had to make sure we were fed, clean and safe; make sure that we had a warm home and take care of all the finances and bills; had to deal with two (then three) daughters AND then stepchildren,etc.....Her and my stepdad made it work, and only the Creator knows how they managed. I don't tell them enough how thankful I am, for ALL that they provided my siblings and myself with.....because in all honesty, it COULD'VE been worse....but it wasn't.....we didnt lack; we didnt go without; we went on trips; and did all the normal "teenage" things that were expected at those times of our lives,etc........they did it and they both need to know how extremely THANKFUL I am for that....yeah, it got tough, it sure wasn't an easy ride and I can only imagine how trying the attitudes of 5 teenagers under one roof must've been like-as a parent!!!!! LoL

I realized that my mom must've been flying by the seat of her pants, as I am now...and it makes me teary-eyed to think that she didnt have a husband and a mother and a mother in law and a sister in law who were there to step in and pick up when she felt she needed that helping hand; or someone else to lay discipline and KNOW that it was being followed through with. I do know, that my mom is an INCREDIBLE woman who radiates such true beauty both in and out; that in the long run, she's come out on Top. She's raised some great kids and I hope she knows that we're grateful for all that she's done. She's never failed us, because like I said, I'm only assuming that she was winging it thru parenting as we are now! ;-)

Okay, now as I pick up my lower lip LOL I have to finish getting school clothes and bookbags ready; I have to quickly run the boys to freshen up their two week old hair cuts; go finish registering and paying on swimming and soccer fees; make sure my little Dude IS NOT trying to CUT HIS OWN HAIR ((another story for another time LOL)); get oldest boy's skates sharpened and print off the hubby's school schedule; fill in MOM'S ULTIMATE CALENDAR/ORGANIZER.....lol....I do love my life! ((oh, and good news, new Neurologist appt booked in Calgary for October-I'm so glad that we followed through on a second opinion!) =)
